The opponents and venue are known for the 2017 NFL regular season, but there are so many variables in schedule making which can make a difference in a team’s overall win/loss total.
- How many prime time games do they have?
- When will they be playing on Thursday night?
- When is the bye week?
- How about those huge rivalry games?
I could go on, but we all know the first things we look at when the NFL schedule is officially released. And as most things with the NFL anymore, they have turned this into an event. An event which is reportedly happening this upcoming Thursday.

The above tweet is referring to the Detroit Lions President Rodney Wood, and the news of the NFL schedule release is music to most NFL fans’ ears. After the preseason schedule was released, and finalized, last week, it is usually only a matter of time until the official schedule will be released.
Who will the Patriots play on opening night? Will the Pittsburgh Steelers play on every major holiday again in 2017 like they did in 2016? Only time will tell, but if this report is true, we won’t have to wait very long to get those answers.
