The last memory Pittsburgh Steelers fans have of last season was Chris Hogan and the New England Patriots slicing and dicing their way through a Swiss cheese-like Pittsburgh defense.
It was an embarrassment.
No other way to describe it, and if you are like me, you still sit there and think, “What went wrong?”
Obviously, I know stopping Hogan would have been ideal, but I’m talking about the actual logistics of what went down on the field which equated to the world-class beat down in Foxborough.
While doing his rounds at the NFL Network, Ryan Shazier was on almost every show, and that included Dave Dameshek’s podcast. Finally, a member of the media asked Shazier some questions about the game, and what went wrong.
You can still see how fresh the wound is for Shazier, as it likely is for the rest of his Steelers teammates, as he struggles to truly identify just one thing which went wrong defensively in that game. He talks about missing Le’Veon Bell, how players weren’t doing their jobs and even throws out a Harry Potter reference.
Take a look at the interview below, and you tell me if the explanation is worthy of believing.
Gave me no pleasure, but felt it was this reporter's job to ask @RyanShazier about that sad AFC title game & @ChrisHogan_15. #HarryPotter pic.twitter.com/GVz1PcKfUm
