With the 2017 NFL Draft done and over with, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and all other NFL teams, begin to fill out their roster with Undrafted Rookie Free Agents (UDFA). Rumors start immediately after the last pick of the 7th round is announced, but the Steelers are one of the few teams who release their UDFA list within hours after the draft has come to completion.
Take a look at the 9 players who found an NFL home after the draft:
Nelson Adams, DT 6-3 287, Mississippi State
Christian Brown, DT 6-3 295, West Virginia
Ethan Cooper, OG 6-2 322, Indiana-Pennsylvania
Francis Kallon, DE 6-5 295, Georgia Tech
Keith Kelsey, LB 6-0 233, Louisville
Scott Orndoff, TE 6-4 253, Pittsburgh
Nick Schuessler, QB 6-3 196, Clemson
Rushel Shell, RB 5-9 227, West Virginia
Terrish Webb, DB 5-10 190, Pittsburgh
These player face a difficult future, as they have to prove their worth over veterans and drafted players. As you may, or may not, know, teams aren’t quick to release players who they spent a draft pick on, but these UDFA certainly will have their work cut out for them as rookie minicamp gets underway in a few weeks.
The Steelers will be trimming their roster in the coming days, so stay tuned to BTSC for the latest surrounding the black and gold as they press on towards the 2017 regular season.
