The Pittsburgh Steelers fan-favorite the past two seasons doesn't have a football job right now, but he will be competing under the bright lights this offseason. Williams will engage in tag team action for Impact Wrestling on July 2 for their Slamiversary XV event. Slamiversary is a Wrestlemania equivalent for the struggling promotion.

D-Will appeared on a promo video at Impact (formerly TNA) headquarters in Nashville with broadcaster Josh Matthews. The veteran of 11 NFL seasons explained that he wasn't there to play for the Titans, but to speak with the Impact head honcho, Jeff Jarrett, regarding a match. Williams will be teaming up with former NFL lineman and Impact Grand Champion Moose (Quinn Ojjinaka) to face Eli Drake and Chris Adonis.

Check out the video:

Earlier this year, Williams and Browns TE Gary Barnidge were at a taping and came to Moose's aid. Moose was being attacked by Impact Superstar Davey Richards and the former Pro Bowlers drove him off.

Many NFL players have made the move to wrestling over the years like Ernie Ladd, Jim Neidhart, Bill Goldberg, Leon White (Vader), John “Bradshaw” Layfield, Tito Santana and current stars Mojo Rawley (Dean Muhtadi) , Baron Corbin (Thomas Pestock) and former Steelers pass rusher and Hall of Famer Kevin Greene.

Williams contends that he will continue to play in the NFL, but he now has a backup plan brewing should no teams come-a-calling.
