If you get arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license, there is usually many underlying issues which led to the suspension of your license.

This was the case for Pittsburgh Steelers second-year cornerback Artie Burns as he arrested Thursday night in Florida.

The cause for Burns’ suspended license was because he failed to pay $1,012.20 in traffic tickets, one of which being a speeding ticket for traveling 130mph in a 60mph speed zone.

While this story hits in the midst of the NFL’s slow season, many will make a lot of this story, when in reality it is a sign of an immature young man. People might forget, but Burns is only 22 years old, and won’t turn 23 until May 1st. Not that age is an excuse for failing to pay over $1,000 dollars in tickets, but in the grand scheme of things Burns will likely pay his fine(s) and be on his way.

Steelers fans, and the Steelers organization, likely hope this is a learning experience for their young cornerback, and his issues with the law, in any form or fashion, are now behind him.
