The Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t had the best cornerbacks in the last decade or so, but when you rank the best which donned the black and gold during that time, Ike Taylor’s name should be at, or near, the top of the list.
Taylor has remained a part of the Pittsburgh sports scene, but has moved onto life after football by joining the team at the NFL Network.
The former cornerback wears his black and gold glasses often on the air, and most recently is getting a chance to re-join the organization, but as an intern. While other websites reported he would be coming back to the Steel City as a coaching intern, Taylor set the record straight on his verified Twitter account that he will be joining the organization as a scouting intern.
I will be working under GM Kevin Colbert and the scouting department not coaching... https://t.co/Mw9PS0AEBW

Taylor will be joining General Manager Kevin Colbert, and the rest of the scouting department, as he learns the ins-and-outs of the front office. What will Taylor exactly be doing? That is unclear, but if Taylor foresees himself as a member of a team’s front office, starting with the Steelers is a great place to start.
Taylor is one of the few players who has made the transition from field to television rather seamless, and there is no doubt he will be able to excel while learning about the under belly of the Steelers front office.
