Was Martavis Bryant the target of a malicious late hit vs. the Colts Saturday night?

The Pittsburgh Steelers may have lost the game vs. the Colts Saturday night, but Martavis Bryant was accusing Indianapolis defender Matthias Farley of something much worse.

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost a meaningless football game Saturday night, but it doesn’t mean the loss will simply go by the wayside for one member of the wide receiving corps.

As reported by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Martavis Bryant took exception of the late hit by Indianapolis Colts defender Matthias Farley during the Week 3 preseason game at Heinz Field.

Check out the play below and judge for yourself:

It seems as if Bryant certainly has a gripe regarding the hit. He was tied up and being taken to the ground before Farely came in both high, and late. Bryant’s comments show the frustration he felt after the play, which wasn’t flagged by officials.

"I feel better about my body and my ability on the field. I don't have to worry about taking so many injuries from different plays like yesterday where he tried to hurt me," Bryant told ESPN. "Just making sure my body feels good and I stay in shape."

When Bryant was asked about the nature of the hit, he said it was "definitely intentional."

"I was already on the ground. It is what it is," Bryant said. "My foot was already bent. ... [Farley] just came in and hit me."

It will be interesting to see if the NFL league office has anything to say about this type of play in a preseason game. In the meantime, what do you think of the play? Let us know in the poll below!
