Steelers Roster Cuts: Pittsburgh roster getting clearer with release of Demarcus Ayers and others

The Pittsburgh Steelers have started the process of getting their roster from the 90-man offseason roster, to the 53-man regular season roster. This can be a time-consuming process, usually filled with tough decisions. Nonetheless, the team has until 4 p.m. ET Saturday, September 2nd to have their roster at the 53-man limit.

The team has already started making moves, and you can keep track of those moves right here, as well as in our Roster Cut Tracker HERE. Check back often for updates on who is out, and therefore who is in, as the team prepares for the Cleveland Browns in Week 1.

  • Steelers cut ties with Knile Davis
  • Steeled plan on releasing former Pitt standout Matt Galambos, but plan to sign him to the practice squad.
  • Steelers release S Jacob Hagen, hope to retain him on the practice squad.
  • Add reserve center Ruben Carter to the list of players cut.
  • A shock to no one who paid attention, the Steelers are going to cut ties with WR Cobi Hamilton.
