The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to wheel-and-deal throughout the preseason, and their latest transaction wasn’t a player acquisition, but a player departure. The Steelers have traded Sammie Coates to the Cleveland Browns.
The #Steelers also give the #Browns their seventh-round pick in 2019. https://t.co/vTcz3CbpPQ

The Steelers trade Coates to the Browns for their 6th round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, but also give the Browns a 7th rough pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
So, to preview the Week 1 matchup pitting the Steelers vs. the Browns in Cleveland, there is a good chance Sammie Coates lines up across from Joe Haden, just in completely different uniforms than they were wearing in Week 1.
On top of that, here is a fun little tid-bit for those who have a good memory with the Steelers’ trades/draft picks:
The 6th-round pick Browns are sending to Steelers is the one they acquired last year in the Justin Gilbert trade.

The Steelers seem to be far from being done with transactions, and that includes the fact they have until 4 p.m. ET to get their roster from 90 to 53 players. You can keep tabs on all of those transactions in our Roster Cuts Tracker.
In the meantime, it looks as if Artie Burns and company will now have to prepare for Sammie Coates the try and take the top off the defense in Week 1...if he can hang onto the ball.
If you are wondering what the Steelers’ wide receiver depth chart is going to look like for Week 1 with Coates out of the mix, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN gives some insight into the situation.
I'm hearing Sammie Coates was led to believe the Steelers are rolling with Justin Hunter and Darrius Heyward-Bey for the last two WR spots.
