Unlike most seasons, the Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t ruling out anyone who could help the team be successful in 2017. This is why Vance McDonald and Joe Haden were both acquired, and is also the reason the team has reportedly put in a call about recently released safety T.J. Ward.
On the day the Denver Broncos broke the news to Ward of his release, the Steelers, looking to solidify their secondary, have put in a call about Ward’s services for this year.
#Steelers could be landing spot for @BossWard43. Hearing could be some interest there. He will land on his feet.

Oh, there is some interest, but sometimes realism trumps interest. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN is reporting despite the Steelers putting in a call about Ward, there are other teams pursuing Ward which are more likely to land him next season.
“Steelers have called on safety T.J. Ward but are not a major player for him right now, per source. There are about three teams making serious push and decision could come tonight or tomorrow.”
Is there a chance the Steelers land Ward? Sure, there is a chance, but that chance looks about as slim as ever. Pittsburgh may have the salary cap space, but if they want to sign Stephon Tuitt to a new deal before their Week 1 tilt against the Cleveland Browns, they might not be able to pay Ward what others are.
However, Ward could be intrigued by the Steelers, and their chances of winning a Super Bowl this year...
...so you’re saying there’s a chance...
