Steelers continue to juggle ILBs by releasing Steven Johnson, again, and promoting L.J. Fort

It wouldn’t be a week in the NFL if the Steelers didn’t release Steven Johnson.

Sometimes the NFL just leaves you scratching your head, and the Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t immune from this type of behavior.

One of the most head-scratching series of additions, releases and promotions this year has been the on again, off again relationship with inside linebacker Steven Johnson.

Johnson, who made the team’ 53-man roster out of training camp, has been signed, released, signed again, and most recently released again.

After Johnson’s most recent release, the team promoted L.J. Fort from the practice squad.

Will this be the final time Johnson is signed and then released? Some would suggest this would be the last time, but history suggests otherwise.

Stay tuned to BTSC for the latest on this story, and others, sureounding the black-and-gold.
