Steelers president Art Rooney II’s statement on the team’s national anthem protest

The Pittsburgh Steelers owner speaks out about his team’s decision to sit out the national anthem.

Since the words said by United States President Donald Trump in regards to the players protesting the national anthem, Pittsburgh Steelers team president Art Rooney II has been remotely quiet. He mentioned how he reiterates Roger Goodell’s statement on President Trump’s comments, but it wasn’t until Sunday till he released a statement of his own, mainly in response to his team’s decision to sit out the national anthem before their Week 3 game against the Chicago Bears.
