As the Pittsburgh Steelers prepare for the Cleveland Browns in Week 1, it is the time of year when the team announces who their team captains will be for the upcoming year.
Their selections shouldn’t surprise anyone: Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger as the offensive captain, and defensive end Cameron Heyward for the defense.
Steelers captains will be Ben Roethlisberger and Cam Heyward this year. No special teams captain

For the first time in a long time, the Steelers are only deploying two captains, foregoing the usual special teams captain.
This is the 9th year Roethlisberger has been named a captain, and the third year of the honor for Heyward.
