Welcome to NFL Kickoff day! The Kansas City Chiefs are on the national stage tonight as they visit the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots for the 2017 NFL season opener. This is as big as it gets (outside of the playoffs). The defending champs, the greatest quarterback and coach of our generation, tens of millions of people watching ... that’s all!
You can find information here on how to stream the game live online with NBC Sports, how to watch the game on TV as well as the odds, announcers, radio and more!
The Chiefs have faced the Patriots twice with Andy Reid - they won one and they lost one. The most recent loss came in the 2016 Divisional round where the Chiefs were 4.5 ‘dogs entering the game. Tonight, the Chiefs are 9-point ‘dogs. I guess that’s what happens when you raise a banner in front of your fans - Vegas gives you the points.
The NFL has done this season opener with the defending champion hosting the Thursday game since 2004 and the home team has won all but one of them. Additionally, Brady is 51-1 in his last 52 games against AFC teams at home.
