Less than 5 hours after publishing an article about how no Pittsburgh Steelers assistant coaches were being sought after for potential head coaching vacancies, a couple things happened.
Bruce Arians retired from his post with the Arizona Cardinals...
...and reports are now stating Steelers’ offensive line coach Mike Munchak is on their list of potential candidates.
The Arizona Cardinals will interview Mike Munchak for their HC job. Would be a good fit with NYG too, who covet experience in the role

As I stated in my previous article, I am surprised it has taken this long for Munchak to get another look at a head coaching job, considering his wealth of experience as both a player and coach.
This doesn’t mean the Steelers have granted permission for Munchak to interview, and teams who are still in the midst of a playoff push might feel one of their assistants potentially leaving would be a distraction at the worst possible time.
Munchak is in his fourth year with the Steelers, and it is worth noting the past two Cardinals head coaches have all been directly linked to the Steelers. Arians as a former offensive coordinator, then through the Colts, and Ken Whisenhunt, another former offensive coordinator.
