Life in the NFL has its ups-and-downs, and with this comes a great deal of turnover on rosters. Players come and go through free agency, as well as being released and possible retirements.
Either way, the bonds which are developed among teammates are created, and broken, on a regular basis. For the Pittsburgh Steelers, they said goodbye to a trio of veterans Wednesday when Mike Mitchell, William Gay and Robert Golden were all released from the team.
Say what you want about these players on the field, but they were all beloved in the locker room by their teammates. You never heard someone within the organization complain about Mitchell’s antics on the field, and nothing but praise was sung regarding Gay and Golden.
It should come as no surprise teammates took to social media to say farewell to these three players. See what they had to say as the team now prepares for the 2018 season with a very different looking secondary.
(Editor’s Note: This story could be updated if/when more teammates take to social media to wish this trio luck in their future endeavors.)
