When it comes to Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, you never really know what he is doing. He may be in Los Angeles with his dog, visiting USC. Or he could be joining the folks at Adidas to film some new commercials for the upcoming NFL season.
Smith-Schuster gives everyone a glimpse into his life on many social media platforms, and if you paid attention, which I do, you noticed something was up the past few days. It all started when Smith-Schuster posted this on Twitter Monday:
.@KingJames DM me bro

Nothing special here, except when Smith-Schuster put that tiny period before tagging Lebron James’ official Twitter handle, he made it public so everyone who follows him could see exactly what he was saying.
Then, early on Tuesday Smith-Schuster shed some light on the aforementioned tweet, but there was plenty of guesswork still involved.

Later in the day, he unveiled his new purpose — trying to recruit Lebron James to the Steelers for the 2018-2019 season.
Check this out:
Announcing my official campaign to recruit @KingJames to the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2018 season. LeBron has done everything in the NBA. He can be the best athlete EVER if he makes the move to the NFL and wins a Super Bowl with Steeler Nation... #LeBronToPittsburgh pic.twitter.com/5VLcjIPpSO

Some will laugh at this and say this is ‘JuJu being JuJu’, and we should just chuckle and move on. And those who suggest this are right, but I can’t help but wonder if Lebron James actually did want to become a crossover athlete. There have been plenty of crossover athletes in the history of sports, but never two contact sports like basketball and football.
What if Lebron were to actually play football? Could he be effective? Would he be a tight end? All of these questions spring into my head as JuJu continues to recruit “King” James away from the Cavaliers and to the Steelers.
Clearly this is a joke...or is it?
