A former member of the Pittsburgh Steelers has a new home in the NFL, according to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.

Veteran WR and special teamer Gunner Olszewski is signing with #Giants’ practice squad, per source. A first-team All-Pro with New England in 2020, Olszewski was released by Pittsburgh last week.

Olszewski, 26, was cut by the Steelers on Friday after two seasons with the team. He played in just two of the five games the Steelers have played this year due to injuries. And when he was on the field, he dealt with fumbling issues.

He lost a fumble in both Weeks 2 and 5 while returning punts and the Steelers are looking to make a change. With Olszewski off the roster, Calvin Austin III took over for punt return responsibilities on Sunday. He returned three punts for 14 yards in the team’s win against the Los Angeles Rams.

Olszewski will have an opportunity to be elevated from the New York Giants practice squad next weekend when they play the cross-town rival New York Jets.
