Which 2015 NFL playoff teams won't make it to the playoffs in 2016?

The NFL has a great deal of turnover on a yearly basis, to the point where it is almost a certainty that 4 teams who make the playoffs the year prior won't make the team the following season. So, who won't make the dance in 2016?

The NFL is as unpredictable as they come, but there are aspects of the league which certainly are predictable. One of those aspects would be the constant turnover of teams who make the postseason one year, and miss out the following year. This strong probability begs the question: Which 2015 playoff teams won't be participating in January football in 2016?

A recent USA Today article took their stab at picking those four teams, and some might come as a surprise to some. They list the Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins and the Houston Texans as teams who made the 2015 postseason, but will fail to do so next year.

Of the 2015 teams who made up the postseason, there could be a case for most teams to possibly miss the playoffs next year. It could be the division they reside, free agent turnover or even the retirement of players which could impact the teams' progression next season.

So, which teams won't make the playoffs? Here is a run down of the teams who made the playoffs last year, and a few reasons why they might miss the playoffs next season.

AFC

Denver Broncos - Will Peyton Manning return? If not, will Brock Osweiler be brought in to take the reigns, and will he be capable? Not to mention some key free agents on the defensive side of the football.

New England Patriots - At what point will Tom Brady stop being so good? It has to happen at some point, right? Nonetheless, the AFC East continues to be a laugher for the most part.

Pittsburgh Steelers - The defense is well, suspect. The 30th ranked pass defense in the league will be missing 3 of the 4 regulars in the defensive backfield. The offense might be great, but can they stop anyone?

Cincinnati Bengals - Some key free agents will make this offseason one to watch in Cincinnati. Oh, and they still have Vontaze Burfict and Marvin Lewis within the organization to make things interesting.

Houston Texans - Who is their quarterback? Brandon Weeden played in their Wild Card playoff game. Enough said.

Kansas City Chiefs - One of the more boring teams to watch. Great defense, putrid dink and dunk offense. Can the team win big games with Alex Smith? That is considered 'To Be Determined'.

NFC

Carolina Panthers - The odds of the losing team making it back to the big dance isn't good. Will Super Cam be able to lead the Panthers back in a competitive NFC?

Arizona Cardinals - Carson Palmer sure showed his stripes in the postseason. The former Bengals QB might put up crazy numbers in the regular season, but proving he can win the big game will always be a cloud over him.

Seattle Seahawks - Russell Wilson took a big step forward in 2015. The "Legion of Boom" showed some kinks in the armor last season, it might be Wilson's turn to carry the team.

Green Bay Packers - Aaron Rodgers is still Aaron Rodgers, but the rest of the team is far from spectacular. The team missed Jordy Nelson, but they have bigger issues than one wide receiver.

Washington Redskins - Kirk Cousins could hit free agency, and Robert Griffin III has probably already relocated out of the DC area. You do need a quarterback to win, and if they are smart they lock up Cousins ASAP.

Minnesota Vikings - Adrian Peterson is reaching the age where NFL running backs typically start to decline, and the pressure will turn to Teddy Bridgewater. Will he be able to carry the burden?

So, which teams will miss the 2016 Playoffs? If I were to pick 4 teams to miss the boat it would be the Redskins, Texans, Vikings and the Chiefs. If you had to pick, which teams do you have being on the outside looking in next season?
