Picking NFL games can be a tricky proposition. Kind of similar to hastily selecting your best friend on the playground on the inaugural day of kindergarten. Over by the monkey bars is your subject. Star Wars T-Shirt. Cool! You like the monumental works of George Lucas. Pokémon lunch box. Yes! Maybe they've caught an Ivysaur and could direct you to where one awaits you. Hello Kitty backpack (gotta include the girls) too. This may just be the one indeed. Plus, the other students seem to like this kid too.
But Wait! There's another kid over there that doesn't have all of the cool swag, but you just have a good feeling about this one, even though there's not a lot of people around this person and they seem kind of shy. You like both. It's a dilemma brewing. What do you do? You make your decision and go with the popular choice. You make your move and Presto! You've got yourself a buddy.
Thirty minutes later you are sitting at your desk pondering the significance of a cat that actually wears hats, but doesn't look like a cat you've ever seen. And then it happens. You simultaneously hear crying and smell something that can't be the feline that enjoys sporting fine haberdashery. And then it dons on you...your brand-new BFF is hysterical because he/she just crapped themselves. Oh yeah. You made the wrong selection. You fear that you too will be ostracized by association. You just know you'll be doomed to twelve years of being picked second-to-last for kickball and have no one to share an occasional Capri Sun and Goldfish with. Your social future is linked to the five-year-old locked in the fetal position, wallowing in a pool of their own tears and soil.
That's how I felt when I selected Dallas and Carolina last week to win.
Luckily, NFL fortunes are too like kindergarten and there's always next week. Sometimes you've got to block out the stench and tears. You find redemption because 5-year olds have the attention span of gnats and because said pooper's parents bring in cupcakes for their birthday (It's actually in May, but mom and dad are desperate. So give them a break.) Plus, you kind-of felt bad right away and decided to give them another chance and found you wanted to be friends anyways. You also approached the other kid and invited him/her to play too. You three are all now BFFs. You're similar to Forrest Gump and Jenny, without the disturbing backstory of incest and cocaine.
Basically Carolina and Dallas, you get another chance.
We at BTSC are showing off are NFL judgement skills and picking the weekly games all season long and sharing them with you. Fear94 has the early lead going 14-2 for the week. Dan Sager and Brian Nuckols are two games back with an impressive 12-4 each. Off to a slow start are...Nope, you've got to see for yourselves below.
