This next matchup in BTSC’s search for the ultimate villain in the eyes of Steeler Nation is interesting. While neither one has necessarily had a major transgression against Pittsburgh, they are loud and brash and some fans dislike them for it. Heck, AB might be on this list if he wore anything other than black and gold. James Harrison would be too.
Since there was not an outcry to eliminate them from consideration, let us proceed.
#7 Rob Gronkowski — New England Patriots
I don't really know if there's too much of a reason to really hate Rob Gronkowski, except for the fact that he's dominant. Against the Steelers, he doubles that dominance. In his inaugural matchup against the Steeler defense, Gronk scored three times. In his five-game career against the Steelers, No. 87 has eight touchdowns and Is everaging over 99 yards per game (496). He is a fun and wild party guy and that rubs fans the wrong way too. His biggest transgression is playing for New England.
#10 Richard Sherman — Seattle Seahawks
Speaking of loud, Sherman is Gronk-like. But not nearly as fun. More like the crazy uncle you hide from and hide the bottle openper from on holidays. Sherman, too, hasn't had too many transgressions against the Steelers. But when they played in 2015, things got chippy between Sherman and Antonio Brown. No. 25 held Brown to 6 catches for 51 yards and HELD Brown for the majority iofthat afternoon. A lot of fans find Sherman more abrasive than his talent allows and he was even more after the Seahawks beat the Steelers.
Of Sherman or Gronk? As a member of Steeler Nation, who is more detestable to you?
