Before we get started with the vote, clarification of why Terrell Suggs is listed here is necessary. Some may recall that BTSC had originally reported Julian Edelman as the top vote-getter by a very slim margin. However upon further review, after submission but before the article appeared on BTSC, Suggs had pulled ahead and the poll closed with a vote of 291 to Edelman’s 287. Hence, Suggs moves on.
A lot of Steeler fans have softened their stance on Suggs, citing that he’s a hard-nosed player as opposed to dirty. I guess fans are forgetting the obscenely despicable hit from behind into a Steeler running back’s legs in 2014. Maybe it’s because the offense was levied against this round’s opponent in the bracket, LeGarrette Blount. However, Blount was not out of favor with Steeler fans at that time and it happened against a Steeler player...from behind.
In turn, Blount is viewed by a majority of SN as a traitor, defector, quitter and a terrible human being. LeGarrette was also viewed as a tumor in the locker room by some Steelers at the time of his possible self-orchestrated release.
It should be a compelling judgement, you make the call.
