Steelers injury report: Defensive players fell in the second half

After the terrible loss to the Browns, the Steelers were facing a handful of injuries after the game.

While the Steelers lost the game, they also lost some key players to injury as their defeat in Cleveland dragged on. After the game, head coach Mike Tomlin listed the team's notable injuries.

The defensive line suffered injuries to three of their primary contributors so far. During the game, Steve McLendon was pulled out due to a shoulder sprain and did not return. Brett Keisel also left the game late with a knee sprain and could be seen walking off the sideline in the fourth quarter to be evaluated. Though Cam Heyward was injured from an obvious chop-block from Joe Thomas, he was able to return to the game and finish it.

Safety Mike Mitchell had what was arguably his best game with two hits that resulted in incompletions and a forced fumble, but he also fell to the injury bug with a sprained knee.

Tomlin only elaborated that the injuries are being looked at for now and that more information will be released as the team examines each player.
