Tennessee Titans add Richard Gordon to 53-man roster, Derek Moye to practice squad

Some names from the past join up with an opponent in the future. The Steelers will take on the Titans in Week 11 on Monday Night Football.

Jason Bridge-USA TODAY Sports

The Steelers and Titans are slated to square off on Monday Night Football in Week 11, a matchup likely to be hyped as Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak facing his former team, as well as ex-Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt (Munchak's replacement) seeing his former employer..

Perhaps they're getting a bit of early intel.

The Titans signed ex-Steelers tight end Richard Gordon to their 53-man roster and added recently-released wide receiver Derek Moye to their practice squad. Perhaps not exactly incredible-value additions, but this does mark the first non-Steelers team Moye has been with in his NFL career. Gordon was added last season in wake of several injuries to tight ends and was not re-signed this off-season.

Not exactly the biggest moves around, but Moye generated something of a following during his time in Pittsburgh. He scored a touchdown last season and was thought to be a competitor for the team's fifth wide-receiver position in training camp. He lost out to Darrius Heyward-Bey and Justin Brown, two players who have contributed to the Steelers' season a bit more than initially anticipated. Brown was the team's slot receiver through its first-six games, only to be deactivated last week when the Steelers gave a helmet to rookie WR Martavis Bryant. Heyward-Bey has been serving as the team's backup split end, but the recent slump of Markus Wheaton resulted in the veteran receiving more snaps in Monday's win over Houston than the second-year Wheaton.

Moye was on the team's practice squad until last week.
