The Pittsburgh Steelers saw the New York Giants sign offensive guard Adam Gettis from their practice squad to their active roster Tuesday. Today they filled that roster spot by signing offensive lineman Ronald Patrick.
Patrick played his college football at the University of South Carolina and spent time with the Dallas Cowboys this preseason before being released. Patrick was an undrafted free agent before signing with Dallas.
These moves come after several NFL teams have taken players off the Steelers' practice squad/off waivers and inserted them onto their active rosters. The Steelers fortunately remain a healthy team that hasn't had to rely on the depth of their practice squad to fill any major roster spots on the team.
The Steelers are preparing to play the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday at Heinz Field. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET.
