Pittsburgh Steelers sign LB Shayon Green to the offseason roster

The Pittsburgh Steelers haven't made many moves in free agency, but continue to make small moves to their offseason roster. Today they signed LB Shayon Green.

Although the Pittsburgh Steelers haven't made the big splash move in free agency, it doesn't mean they aren't making moves. Wednesday saw them re-sign DE Clifton Geathers, a few weeks ago saw them re-sign Darrius Heyward Bey and Thursday had the team sign LB Shayon Green to their offseason roster.

Green attended the University of Miami and played both defensive end and linebacker for the Hurricanes. Green battled two torn ACLs in his time at Miami and battled his way back, very similar to another Miami Hurricane on the Steelers' roster named Sean Spence.

Green was an undrafted free agent signing with the Miami Dolphins in 2014, but failed to make the team. He is hoping to re-invent himself in Pittsburgh under the careful eye of outside linebackers coach Joey Porter. Green will most likely look to make the team as a special teams player, and hopefully find himself in a backup role at the outside linebacker position.
