The Pittsburgh Steelers and Mike Tomlin played with proverbial fire when choosing to activate Ben Roethlisberger and have him be the primary backup quarterback to Landry Jones against the Cleveland Browns in Week 10. After a Johnny Manziel fumble which was recovered by Pittsburgh, the Steelers got burnt.
Jones had his left ankle rolled into by Marcus Gilbert who was pass protecting, causing Jones to leave the game and giving way to Roethlisberger to enter the game. Jones was taken to the locker room on a cart, and Roethlisberger began warming up for his first action since injuring his foot in the 4th quarter of the Steelers Week 9 win over the Oakland Raiders.
Despite having a bye week in Week 11, the Steelers can not afford to have Roethlisberger further injure his foot, or knee which was sprained in Week 3.
Be sure to stay tuned to BTSC for the latest on Roethlisberger's play, as well as updates on Jones' ankle.
