The Pittsburgh Steelers secondary took a huge hit in the first quarter when safety Will Allen left the field with a left ankle injury. It was later announced in the quarter Allen would not return to the game with that ankle injury.

In Allen's vacancy, Robert Golden will take over alongside Mike Mitchell for the Steelers safety tandem for the remainder of this Week 5 Monday Night Football game.
While many fans are wondering about Shamarko Thomas possibly be placed into the game, when he makes mistakes like his fair catch interference penalty earlier in the game, it doesn't exude confidence within the coaching staff to trust you in a standard 11-on-11 situation.
The Steelers are now down to 3 safeties to finish the rest of the game, something to keep an eye on if Golden or Mitchell were to get injured at some point in the second half.
