NFL Picks and Predictions: Steelers vs. Seahawks Week 12

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks will do battle on a national stage Sunday in Week 12, but who will come away victorious?

When the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks square off in Seattle Sunday, there will be some major story lines coming to fruition on the field. Matchups such as Russell Wilson vs. the Steelers defense, Antonio Brown vs. Richard Sherman and Ben Roethlisberger vs. the Legion of Boom will be on the forefront, but the importance of this game goes beyond X's and O's and matchups on the field.

The 6-4 Steelers could supplant their place in the AFC Playoff Picture with a victory, but the 5-5 Seahawks desperately need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, as well as keep pace in the NFC West. To say there is significance in this matchup might be an understatement.

With the Steelers on the road, you have a mixed bag of results depending on who the team has at quarterback for the team. However, with Ben Roethlisberger back in the lineup it will increase the Steelers' chance of playing in such a raucous venue such as CenturyLink Field in Seattle.

The Seahawks possess weapons of their own, and their defense is every ounce as good at home as they were when they went to back-to-back Super Bowls. If the Steelers want to achieve their goal of scoring 30 points in a game, it will take everything they have to achieve the goal.

So, who will win this Week 12 game? Will the Steelers get their statement will, or will it be the Seahawks who make the statement on their home field? Make your prediction for the game in the tool below. All predictions will be calculated, tabulate and compared to Field Gulls' (SB Nation's Seahawks website). Time for Steelers fans of BTSC to prove they are the smarter fans in this Super Bowl XL rematch.

This game could be a toss up, and most would favor the home team in matchups like this, but with the Steelers coming off a bye week I like their chances of moving the football on the Seahawks defense. The question remains whether the Steelers red-zone offense will show up, or if Chris Boswell will have a busy day kicking field goals. I like the Steelers chances.

Jeff Hartman (BTSC editor) Prediction:
Steelers: 31
Seahawks: 24
