Arrowhead Stadium field, and weather conditions, expected to be good for Steelers-Chiefs game

Field reportedly has been covered and heated today during ice storm.

The playing surface at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City reportedly has been covered during the overnight ice storm event in the area and, while weather conditions for tonight’s clash between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs are expected to be a bit wet, overall conditions should be very good.

The temperature at kickoff is expected to be approximately 34 degrees, with a high probability of light and intermittent rain during the game.

Wind should not be a factor, as the local forecast calls for for light winds (6-7 mph) at kickoff time. All in all, pretty good conditions for football.

The NFL is reportedly “experimenting” with a night game on Sunday in the Divisional round of the playoffs. Sadly, this experiment involves the winner of the Chiefs and Steelers game being behind the 8-ball as either team will be preparing to travel to Foxboro next weekend to play the New England Patriots, who played at home on Saturday night.
