Steelers Injury Report: Markus Wheaton and Ryan Shazier both listed as Questionable

The Pittsburgh Steelers have concluded their final practice leading up to their Week 2 game against Cincinnati. Check out the status of several key players.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals have both concluded their final practices leading up to the Week 2 game between the two AFC North rivals. Both teams come into the game sporting a 1-0 record, but barring a tie, one will find themselves looking up at the other in the division standings come Week 3.

The Steelers don't have a lot of injuries of note, but two starters have been trying to get on the practice field in hopes of playing Sunday. Those players would be Markus Wheaton and Ryan Shazier.

Wheaton has been dealing with a shoulder injury which held him out of the season opener in Washington, and Shazier tweaked a knee which removed him from the Monday Night Football game. Wheaton was a full participant Wednesday and Thursday, but was limited on Friday. This is not a good sign of his return in Week 2 considering he was downgraded in terms of practice participation.

Shazier sat out Wednesday's practice before being limited Thursday and a full participant Friday. Barring a setback, Shazier should be in the lineup for the Steelers for the 1 p.m. kickoff at Heinz Field.

For those concerned about these players being listed as questionable, it should be noted the NFL got rid of the 'Probable' tag on the injury report this year, so any player who is not considered at full health would be listed as questionable.

The Bengals had a handful of injuries they were keeping an eye on throughout the week, but their final injury report certainly looks a lot cleaner compared to their opposition.

The Steelers and Bengals square off at Heinz Field this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EDT. Be sure to stay up-to-date with all the latest news, right here with BTSC.
