Being a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers has meant you watch the injury report almost as closely as the game itself on Sundays. And when you have the injury issues the Steelers have experienced so far in 2016, it is hard not to wait and see who is missing practice on any particular day.
Putting it simply, the Steelers are a team on the mend. Some of their major injuries are now behind them, but it is never a clean report, regardless of the week. Fans were frustrated with Sammie Coates being limited on Wednesday with his finger injury, and as they were excited to see him as a full participant Thursday, frustration kicked back in as Markus Wheaton was downgraded from a full participant to limited with his shoulder injury.
At least from the injury front, it always seems like one step forward, one or two steps back. Other than Wheaton and Coates swapping positions on the injury report, fans should be excited about Ben Roethlisberger being a full participant for the second day in a row. It shows his knee is rebounding nicely from the increased workload, and he should look more like the Big Ben that throws 4 touchdowns at Heinz Field, compared to the one who looks “off” and throws more interceptions than touchdowns.
Nonetheless, Friday is the final practice of the week, and it is safe to say Darrius Heyward-Bey, Jordan Dangerfield and DeAngelo Williams will likely be out of the lineup this Sunday. Other than that, the Steelers will look to have close to a full arsenal at their disposal against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10 at Heinz Field.
