NFL Expert Picks: Who they are taking in Steelers vs. Dolphins Week 6

New, comments

The Pittsburgh Steelers are headed to South Beach to play the Miami Dolphins. Time to see who the experts like in this AFC matchup.

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins are getting set to go head-to-head in Week 6 NFL action, and the two teams couldn't be headed in different directions. The Steelers are coming off back-to-back wins at home, improving their record to 4-1. The Dolphins are coming off back-to-back losses and have dropped to 1-4 on the season. In fact, if not for a missed Cleveland Browns field goal, the Dolphins could be 0-5.

Nonetheless, as the age old adage goes, "There is a reason they play the game." This moniker is certainly true with the Steelers, who are known for a let down game, or two, almost every season since Mike Tomlin took over in 2007. Simply put, the Steelers are the easy pick in this game, and Las Vegas certainly agrees. Pittsburgh is anywhere from 7.5 to 9.0-point road favorites. A lot of points for Vegas to be dishing out in a contest, but just shows how they like Ben Roethlisberger and company over Ryan Tannehill and the gang at home.

What about those experts who submit weekly picks for every game on the NFL slate? Let's take a look to see who they think will win this Week 6 game.

Last week when the Steelers squared off with the New York Jets at Heinz Field, it was a clean sweep among the experts. All four websites which we pull picks from weekly all had their experts take the Steelers at home over 'Gang Green'. Most would assume it would be more of the same in Week 6, but that is why we don't assume.

The experts at ESPNFOX Sports and CBSSports all see this game going Pittsburgh's way, not one expert sticking their neck out and picking the Dolphins at home. However, if you happen to be a Dolphins fan reading this, have no fear for the haters at SB Nation have someone who has your back. Stephen White, who has the third worst record in his weekly picks, is taking the Dolphins at Hard Rock Cafe Stadium this Sunday.

What about the other experts around the internet? According to our friends at NFL Pick Watch, a website which calculates and tabulates all expert picks online, a whopping 97-percent of experts taking the black and gold to advance to 5-1 before heading back to Heinz Field when the New England Patriots in Week 7.

Only time will tell who claims victory on Sunday in Miami, but the experts certainly like the Steelers.
