NFL Expert Picks Week 5: Who they like in the Steelers vs. Jets game

The Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets will square off in Week 5 at Heinz Field in a big AFC game. Some might read the last sentence and think to themselves, "Big? The Jets are 1-3!" This is true, the Jets come into the Week 5 contest with a 1-3 record, but the 3-1 Steelers can't afford a slip up. Not at home, and not to an AFC opponent.

This is typically where fans of the black and gold conjure up memories of Bruce Gradkowski and the Raiders coming to Heinz Field and beating the Steelers. Or Mike Glennon leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to victory in stunning fashion. Nonetheless, it is a new year, a new team and hope springs eternal for the Steelers claiming their 4th win in 5 games this Sunday at 1 p.m. EDT.

Las Vegas likes the Steelers in this game. In fact, they like them a lot. The Steelers are 7-point favorites to win the game, and that is a big spread in today's NFL, even with the usual 2.5 to 3.0-points being given to the home team.

Vegas likes Pittsburgh, Steelers fans should be confident about the game, but what about those experts? Who do they think will win this game? Let's take a look...

I've been writing this article every week for the past three years, and I can only think of a handful of occasions where I've seen this take place. What is "this" you ask? All major media outlets picking the Steelers to be victorious. Usually there is at least one or two brave souls who go against the grain and pick the opposition, but heading into Week 5 it is a clean sweep.

The experts at ESPN, FOX Sports, CBSSports and even the haters here at SB Nation all think the Steelers will send Ryan Fitzpatrick and company back to the Big Apple with a Big 'L'.

With that said, we use the weekly chart provided by our friends at NFL Pick Watch, a website which tabulates all expert picks across the internet, and the chart shows 95-percent of experts who submit weekly picks think the Steelers will win the game.

Will the Steelers be 4-1 when the dust settles Sunday afternoon? Only time will tell, but the experts certainly like their chances.
