Steelers injury report: Lance Moore, Martavis Bryant miss practice Wednesday

Two wide receivers were down in Wednesday's practice, but it appears long-snapper Greg Warren will be ready to go in the season opener.

Perhaps it's becoming clearer why the Steelers kept six receivers this past week.

Probably not, but at least it's a good thing they did. Rookie Martavis Bryant (shoulder) missed practice Wednesday, the second straight day, and while he probably wasn't going to get a helmet Sunday anyway, the injury may keep his progress on the field restricted a bit.

The fact veteran slot receiver Lance Moore missed practice may be of more concern. It may be more precautionary than anything else but one of the big questions this offseason, after the signing of Moore, was who would back up that position. Second-year WR Justin Brown may see some time in that spot in the Steelers' 11 personnel packages.

Cornerback Brice McCain was limited in practice with the groin injury he suffered in the team's final preseason game. Long-snapper Greg Warren, linebacker Sean Spence and tight end Matt Spaeth were all full participants despite prior injuries.

The Steelers host the Cleveland Browns at 1 p.m. Sunday in the season-opener.
