Steelers vs. Giants preseason 2014: Game time, TV schedule, online streaming and more

New, comments

The visiting Giants defeated Pittsburgh last season 18-13 in the preseason opener.

Justin K. Aller

The Giants and Steelers met in the first preseason game for both clubs last season, with the guest Giants pulling out an 18-13 victory.

It was the first of four consecutive preseason losses for the Steelers, who then took that mentality into the regular season, where they lost another four games. Not to suggest preseason results ultimately dictate regular season performance, but...that's what happened last year.

It was a down time in the recent history of the franchise, but it's a revamped team from last year and an unrecognizable team in comparison to two years ago. They'll be looking to get things off to a good start in one regard, but this game is really more about those battling for deep roster spots. Win or lose, if those players can show a competitive effort, it'll paint a clearer picture about what this final roster will look like.
