The Steelers' revamped running game under offensive coordinator Todd Haley was largely boosted by the presence of running  back Le'Veon Bell.

It reached a milestone Sunday when Bell topped 1,000 yards for the first time in his two-year career. The last Steelers running back to rush for 1,000 yards since Rashard Mendenhall in 2010.

The Steelers started their Week 13 game against the New Orleans Saints looking to make big plays, but back-to-back runs from Bell on their second drive - both with excellent blocks from fullback Will Johnson - spurred their first scoring drive. Kicker Shaun Suishham banged home a 49-yard field goal to take an early 3-0 lead.

He broke the 1,000 yard barrier on a draw in the first quarter, a run that gave him 64 yards on the game. With an apparent hand or wrist injury to Ben Roethlisberger earlier in the series, this game may have to be all on Bell.
