As the Pittsburgh Steelers prepare for the hugely anticipated 'dress rehearsal' that is the third preseason game, the Steelers' franchise quaterback, Ben Roethlisberger, is expecting to play at least a half, according to Scott Brown of ESPN (who would later tweet the error he made in regards to the day of the game in the above tweet).
Per Brown, Roethlisberger is not only is expecting to see a half of playing time when the Steelers travel to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia to play the Eagles on Thursday, but the goal is to utilize the no huddle away from Heinz Field.
The Steelers utilized the no huddle offense frequently in the second half of the 2013 season, and being able to effectively work the signals and verbage in a hostile environment will be crucial to the success the offensive package sees in 2014.
The Steelers offense was fluent and effective against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday night. Moving the ball at will and creating big plays that equated to the only two Steelers touchdowns of the night. The no huddle worked well as Roethlisberger distributed passes to several receivers in the three series of action he saw.
Big plays was the theme of the night for the Steelers and their attacking offense. Whether it was Antonio Brown's 76 yard catch and run for a touchdown, or Markus Wheaton's beautiful toe tapping touchdown, the Steelers offense made plays when it mattered most.
The game against the Eagles on Thursday night will likely be the last game action you will see from a majority of starters, and it will be imperative that the team stay on point as they look to move into the regular season clicking on all cylinders.
