Steelers vs. Eagles first half open thread

New, comments

The Steelers are in Philadelphia, with 89 guys having taken the team's charter, and one paying on his own to get there, for the team's third preseason game.

It's the dress rehearsal from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, the most important (only important?) preseason game on each team's calendar. The Steelers have had their share of drama leading into that dress rehearsal, so much to the point one has to wonder if it will distract the team from preparation for this season.

Runnings backs Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount will both suit up tonight, according to earlier reports, and both would probably be expected to handle whatever amount of snaps they normally would have.

The Steelers looked to run the ball in their first preseason game, and they utilized the no huddle frequently in their second game. Whatever the plan is for the third game, it didn't initially include the likely need to find another running back, now that Bell and Blount could be facing a suspension.

Perhaps that's an issue for next season though. It took the league a year to suspend Dwayne Bowe after he was arrested for marijuana possession.

Enough on that. The Steelers and Eagles kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET, and here's your place to weigh in with fans on all the action. Please do not post links or solicitations of any kind requesting access to the game (email works among members), and please be respectful of fans of other teams that may come by. Moderators are aware of heightened tensions given recent events, and trolls will be dealt with accordingly.

Otherwise, we're all cool here, let's relax and enjoy the game.
