Steelers kicker Shaun Suisham was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in Week 13. He drilled a 42-yarder at the end of regulation to defeat the Baltimore Ravens. Suisham was 3-for-3 against the Ravens, hitting from 46, 41 and 42 yards. He's made his last 13 kicks.
Having only missed one kick in 25 attempts this year, Suisham is perfect (23-for-23) on kicks from 49 yards and in.
It's the second time this season Suisham's been named Special Teams Player of the Week, having earned it in the Steelers' Week 5 win over Philadelphia.
Suisham went from possible camp cut to veteran likely to stick with the club for the remaining two years of his contract with his performance this season. Financials are the only issue for the eight-year veteran, but considering he's been able to master the tricky kicking environment at Heinz Field (perfect at 11-for-11), he just may not be someone the Steelers can let go.
